One Last Time by Corinne Michaels Release Date: February 26th, 2018 Genre: Contemporary Romance
OLT_FrontCover
From New York Times bestselling author, Corinne Michaels, comes a new heartwarming standalone romance.
I’m getting really good at cutting my losses.
First, the husband. Divorcing him was the best decision I ever made. But between single-parenting and job-hunting, I can’t catch my breath. When a celebrity blogging position falls into my lap, I’m determined to succeed.
That is, until I get my first assignment and actually see Noah Frazier for the first time . . . practically naked and dripping wet. My heart races and I forget how to form complete sentences. His chiseled abs, irresistible smirk, and crystal blue eyes are too perfect to be real. So, what do I do? Get drunk and humiliate myself, of course.
I’m ready to forget the awkward night, yet Noah has no intention of allowing me to move on. Instead, he arranges for me to write a feature on him, ensuring a lot more time together. One embarrassing moment after another, one kiss after another, and before I can stop myself, I realize—I’m falling in love with him.
But when the unthinkable happens, can I even blame him for cutting his losses?
What I wouldn’t give for just one last time . . .
OLT-AN-1
Excerpt:
Before I can make a move either way, the glass door slides open and Noah walks through the threshold.
My legs start to quiver as his eyes meet mine. All I can think about is how I’d like to climb him like a tree and shake his coconuts. I thought he was hot in the photo, then he was better through the window, but up close, he’s otherworldly.
“Hi.” Noah’s throaty voice floats around me. “You must be Kristin.”
Instead of speaking, I stand here with my mouth hanging open. Some small sounds that could be words escape, but they aren’t coherent.
Kill me now.
“Noah, this is my best friend, Kristin. Who we told you about.” Heather elbows me.
“Yes. Me. Hi. Kristin. I. You. Hi.”
Smooth. Someone should video this because I’m sure it’s highly entertaining.
“Right.” Noah flashes a blinding smile. “I hear you’re a reporter?”
Okay, Kristin, you have to speak in more than one-word increments or grunting noises.
I grab Heather’s glass she just poured and hope it’ll act as a talisman. “Yes, for a small blog, but I’m that. A reporter. For a blog. I write.”
And a bumbling idiot.
Noah’s green eyes are filled with humor. He moves a little closer and places his hand on top of mine. “Eli filled me in a little. I’m happy I came.”
I’m pretty sure I just came. At least we’re all coming.
“Me, too.”
His lips turn up as his eyes rake my body. “See you out there.” He winks and walks back out.
My ovaries have officially disintegrated.
I turn back to Heather, who bursts out into a fit of laughter. “Oh, that was epic. You all said I was starstruck when I met Eli? You should’ve seen that!” Heather continues to laugh at my expense. “Yes. Me. Um. Blog. Er—” She mocks.
“Shut up.” I laugh—because, really, what else can I do—and bump her hip before moving around the bar and grabbing a glass. “Now, pour me a shot before I drink straight from the bottle.”
There’s only one way to get through tonight.
Alcohol.
Lots of Alcohol.

This is an interconnected stand alone. Kristin is a character that we met in We Own Tonight (Heather and Eli’s story) and Noah is Eli’s friend.
I’m going to be honest and admit that this is a book I have some mixed feelings about.
I truly enjoy getting to know Kristin and seeing her relearn her self worth. I also liked Noah and appreciated his genuine goodness. They were a couple that was easy to root for, especially with the extreme care they took with Kristin’s kids.
Kristin’s grace when dealing with her ex was just another reason to like her and want to see her have a happy ending.
My struggle with this book was the source of the conflict between Noah and Kristin. The person behind the external conflict and their motivation made sense, but the how seemed pretty far fetched. Its probably a small “reader preference” thing, but it just seemed to throw an intrigue element into a story that didn’t really need it.
At the end of the day, the things I liked - the great characters, strong friendships, and a heroine building herself back up- out weighed the things I didn’t like. If you appreciate a good story about more mature couples, then this is one to pick up.

Baby Daddy ~ Kendall Ryan~ New Release

A hot and hilarious new standalone from New York Times bestseller Kendall Ryan.

We met in a trapped elevator.

Emmett was on his way to work, sophisticated and handsome in his tailored suit and tie. I was on my way to the sperm bank. Awkward, right? At thirty-five, my life hadn’t taken the path I thought it would and I was tired of waiting—I wanted a baby. And I was ready to take matters into my own hands to make it happen. After our ill-fated elevator encounter, Emmett insisted on taking me to dinner—he also insisted on something else—that I ditch my plan involving a turkey baster and let him do the job. He would be my baby daddy. He was a wealthy and powerful CEO with little interest in diapers or playdates. And since he didn’t want kids, I’d be on my own once his bun was in my oven, free to go my own way. But once his baby was inside me, it was like a switch had been flipped, and I got a whole lot more than I ever bargained for. This full-length standalone contains a hot, swoonworthy hero, lots of playful banter and some hot baby-making ! Enjoy.

Breathe You by Celeste Grande

My rating: 5 of 5 stars - One of the very Best

Review Copy Provided by Author

Breathe You is a book that I have been both looking forward to and dreading ever since finishing Live Me. Why you ask? Looking forward to it, because having met Eva and Blake, I needed to know what happened next. Dreading it because with the struggles they faced in Live Me, I couldn’t imagine what would come next.
This installment of the story picks up immediately after where Live Me left off (so reading the first book is a must) and takes us through Eva’s journey of finding herself and fighting for her relationship with Blake. Ms. Grande did not disappoint in the emotional impact of this story – and I was right to both look forward to and dread the book!
In Breathe You, we spend most of our time with Eva and go through a huge metamorphosis with her. We see her go from broken, through the chrysalis of getting help, to be the butterfly who was strong enough to put everything on the line and be okay no matter what the results. Once I settled into read Breathe You, I could not put it down and ended up finishing the book in one day. I didn’t realize how much the book was impacting me until I was done and finally stopped trembling (I thought I was just cold from being outside most of the afternoon). Eva’s journey was not an easy one, but it was one with an underlying message of hope.
After adoring Blake in Live Me, I struggled with him here – a lot – especially in the first half of the book. I could understand where he was coming from, but felt like he contributed to the very yo-yo effect he fought against. He ultimately redeemed himself, but there was part of the book where I really wasn’t sure I wanted him with Eva.
The secondary cast here is small, but they are huge players in the story. They are the friends who hold Eva together and help push her to grow into the person she’s meant to be. Breathe You is an emotional and somewhat difficult book to read as the subject matter is somewhat disturbing. But, if you can be open to the story, it’s a well written work that will break your heart and put it back together.

Fighting Irish ~ Katy Regnery ~ New Release and Review

Rory Haven and Brittany Manion knew one another as children...

...but it's been a long time since their childhood summers at Summerhaven.

The Havens weren't the children who attended exclusive Summerhaven Camp in Center Sandwich, New Hampshire. They were the children of the owners, expected to “pull their weight” and absolutely forbidden to fraternize with the paying guests. But that didn't keep Rory from having a quiet, unrequited crush on gorgeous, popular, insanely-rich, Brittany Manion for three tortuous summers.

When all-grown-up, recently-engaged Brittany books the off-season summer camp for her upcoming spring wedding, she immediately recognizes Rory as the scorching-hot boy who wouldn’t give her the time of day. Meanwhile Rory, who senses that Brittany’s nuptials are less about Mr. Right and more about Mr. Right Now, launches the fight of his life to win the heart of the girl he’s always wanted.

This is a super sweet introduction to a new series!
Rory and Brittany spent 4 summers as teenagers being around each other and attracted to each other, but neither ever did anything about it. Fast forward 10 years and they reconnect when she shows up to book his family's camp for her wedding.
Both Brittany and Rory are characters that are interesting and easy to relate to. Brittany has everything a woman could want - at least in material terms, but struggles with emotional connections. Rory shelved his dreams to keep the family business going after tragedy struck. Watching these two figure things out and form a connection was sweet to watch.
Fighting Irish not only focuses on Rory and Brittany's budding friendship turned romantic connection, but also on Rory's relationship with his brother and sister (they are fraternal triplets). Seeing how he puts family first makes him almost impossible not to like.
Fighting Irish is a truly enjoyable book and I am looking forward to seeing what comes next for the Haven siblings.

Synopsis

Nate Pearson is ridiculously handsome and wears the hell out of a suit and tie, but I’ve seen the parade of beautiful women leaving his apartment across the hall—a different one every time—and I want no part of it. When it comes to romance, I’m looking for something real, something that will last: the happily ever after.
As a divorce attorney, he loves to tell me there’s no such thing.
As a wedding planner, I choose to disagree.
We disagree on almost everything, in fact. Everything except James Bond. The only time we really get along is when we’re watching 007 flicks together, and I’ll admit—he has rescued me from a disaster or five. So when one of the baton twirlers from his parade leaves a baby girl at his door with a note that says “I’ll come back for her” and he begs me for help, I can’t turn him down.
But it’s a mistake.
Because watching him with his daughter, I start to see another side of Nate, a side that has my breath coming faster, my body craving his, my heart longing for him to change his mind about love and tell me there’s a chance for us.
I don’t want to be just another girl leaving his apartment in the morning.
I want to be the one he asks to stay.

One break is all The Crow Brothers need and we’re about to get it.
Johnny Outlaw, rock legend and lead singer of The Resistance, is here to watch us play. But he’s not the only familiar face in the crowd—killer little body, heart-shaped face, and drop-dead gorgeous.

She underestimated me. I’ll prove to my son, and her, that I can be the dad he needs.
What is it about musicians? Why are they so damn sexy?
My heart was Jet Crow’s the moment he opened his sexy mouth and sang that first song. One stolen night with that man would never be enough, but I’m not here to fall into his bed. Again. I’m here to fight for custody of a son he’s never known.
There’s just one problem. Those sparks between us have become flames. If we’re not careful we’re both going to get burned.

If you are looking for a feel good, rock star read then Spark is just the ticket!
Jet and his brothers are on the cusp of their big break when he gets the surprise of his life...
Hannah hasn’t had the smoothest couple of years when she comes home to be with her ill cousin. One night of fun changes everything.
Jet is just an all around good guy who is impossible not to like. I loved how he was with his brothers, how he treated Hannah, and how he reacted the second he found out he had a son. He’s the definition of the type of guy you’d want your sister or daughter to be with.
Hannah’s hot and cold bothered me a little at first, but the more I got to know her and her story I understood where she was coming from. Knowing that helped me understand her more.
Excellent story telling takes us through Jet and Hannah’s journey to go from somewhat adversarial to friends to lovers and beyond. One of my favorite parts of this story was the idea that family is what you make it. Another was that Ms Scott kept the conflict external to our budding family. I appreciate that conflict had them working together, vs being at each other’s throats.
Not only did I love Jet and Hannah, I loved meeting The other Crow brothers and can’t wait to see their stories.

SPARK EXCERPT
Prologue
Jet Crow
Subtle scents of cinnamon mix with the taste of whiskey on her skin. I lick her from collarbone to the back of her ear, her moans enticing me to take more than a gentle share of what I want.
I’m well past hooking up with groupies, but something drew me to the beautiful brunette. Under the bright spotlight of that stage, my eyes found hers as I sang about finding the missing piece of me. Maybe it was the way she pretended to not care, catching my eyes and then turning away as if she was too shy to come speak to me, but too good to be bothered. It didn’t matter. I was already caught up in her as much as she was caught up in me.
The set ended and I made my way over to the mystery woman, the one who hid in the dark of the bar just as two shots were served. I took the shot of Fireball and then took her home shortly after.
Fuck. She feels good.
Hard little body, but soft in all the right places. Tits that fill my large hands and legs that spread enough for me to squeeze between her thighs. I bet she wouldn’t reach my shoulders in heels. Speaking of, “Keep them on.”
I like the feel of the leather against my lower back, the hard heel scraping across my skin when she tries to power play me by tightening around my waist and pulling me closer. I didn’t ask her to my bedroom. I didn’t have a chance. What started out as laughing while we shared a two a.m. snack of Cheetos, hummus, and whiskey turned into me eating her as a snack on top of my kitchen counter. I don’t ever do that with a one-nighter, but damn if she didn’t make me want to break more rules with her.
She kisses me like a woman in need of water, taking as much as she wants while pressing her heels into my ass. The heat between us emanates until I’m dragging my shirt off to try to cool down.
I knew she was different the moment she opened her mouth back at the bar. “You sing rock with so much soul. Who hurt you?”
“No one gets close enough to do me any harm.”
“That’s a pity.”
“It’s a pity I’ve never been hurt?”
“No, it’s a pity you’ve never loved anyone enough to get hurt.”
My heart started beating for what felt like the first time as I looked into her sultry eyes. I could blame the booze, but I can’t lie to myself. She had me thinking twice on things I never considered once before.
Who was this woman?
Even with our stomachs full, we weren’t satisfied. She dragged me by the belt down the hall to my bedroom. Her clothes were off and mine quickly followed before we tumbled into bed.
Fast. I want to fuck her fast and hard, but every time our eyes connect there’s such sadness found in her grays that I slow down. Wanting her to hold contact, I cup her cheek. “Hannah?”
Her eyes slowly open, the long lashes framing the lust I find between them. “What?” she asks between heavy breaths.
“Are you okay?”
“I’m good.”
“Just making sure.”
She runs her hands up my neck and into the back of my hair. “I’m sure.” Pulling me down to her, our mouths are just a few inches apart when she whispers, “I want you. I want to do this.”
Shy isn’t something I’d call her considering we were in my bed two hours after meeting. I like a woman who knows what she wants. Hannah knows. And fuck if it isn’t a turn on that she wants me.

About The Author:
Living in the capital of Texas with her family, Scott loves traveling and avocados, beaches, and cooking with her kids. She's obsessed with epic romances and loves a good plot twist. Her favorite color is blue, but she likens it more toward the sky than the emotion. Her home is filled with the welcoming symbol of the pineapple and finds surfing a challenge though she likes to think she's a pro.

Broken Boundaries ~TC Matson ~ Author Interview and Review

Title: The Broken Boundaries
Series: The Debonair Series #1
Author: TC Matson
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 21, 2018

Two things I love are the company I built from the ground up and women, and not particularly in that order.
When I see something I want, I get it, whether it’s a new client or a wild night in the sack.
Women flock to my stock, and ladies, that’s not all they enjoy.
I’m not labeled as one of Denver’s top playboys for nothing.
I’m damn good-looking, my pockets are deep, and my “endowments” leave women begging for more.
Two rules I live by:
* Don’t mix business with pleasure.
* Never, ever date an employee.
I thought I had it all in check until Zoey Campbell started working for me.
All my rules? Disintegrated.
Because rules are meant to be broken.
And great sex is meant to be had.
Easton Langley is a manwhore.
I knew his reputation before I applied for the job.
But none of the rumors about him mattered because my focus was on my career.
And I’m smart enough not to fall for his sexy charm.
Or so I thought.
He’s so insanely good-looking and smooth with his words, I can’t help but be distracted whenever he’s around.
Fantasizing about the boss is inappropriate.
Sleeping with him would be crossing the line.
One night. That’s all it took.
And going back to the way it was isn’t an option.
The worst part about it?
I’ve fallen for him.
When a late night in the office shatters every rule, Easton and Zoey find themselves breaking all the boundaries.
“Why would you care what I do outside of work?” I ask valiantly. Bad day or not, I’ll not be the person taking direct hits from his frustrations.
He rests back in his chair. “Because I do.” I’m stunned by the sexy grin curving his mouth. “You represent me.”
He’s got to be kidding me. Him of all people? “Sir, no matter what I do, it’ll cause no harm to your business. If your reputation hasn’t damaged anything, I’m quite sure my nonexistent one won’t either.”
I smother the gasp my words cause. I can’t believe my mouth, but I hold my ground, keeping my nervousness below my poker face.
His chuckle is playful. “I’m not what they claim in the papers or wherever else my reputation is slandered. Rumors are just rumors. Most of them false. I conduct myself professionally and give them no further thought.”
My skin is still buzzing from his gall. “No matter how dazzling your entrance, your reputation got there before you. Regardless of how you conduct yourself, a reputation like yours can influence the purest of minds.”
He chokes on his water.
Still irked, I push to my feet and flash a bitchy smirk. “Thank you for lunch.”

Easton and Zoey are just a fun read; An office romance combined with an instant attraction.
One of the things that I enjoyed about this story was the fact that even though there was an instant attraction, acting on it was delayed. This gave our characters a chance to get to know each other and the reader the sense that the developing relationship might have staying power.
As much as I liked this story, I did have some mixed feelings about Zoey. There were times that she came across as a very strong female lead, but there were other times she seemed very young. I would have liked to have seen her be a bit more consistent. I genuinely liked Easton and appreciated the evolution we saw in him as he embraced his more emotional side.
The secondary cast was interesting, the dynamic between Easton and his friends was intriguing and a little confusing at times. Overall, this was a fun and quick read and I am looking forward to seeing Zach’s story.
“Dreaming in Reality…You dream in reality when you pick up a book and get lost in it. In my writing, I strive to take you to a place where reality and fantasy become a blurry line. Everything should be relatable. It could happen…couldn’t it?” ~ TC Matson TC Matson loves to let her character’s voices be heard. With a head full of stories, she puts her keyboard through a beating daily. With an understanding that love isn’t always instant and full of flowers—her writing mirrors it. She’s a romance junkie at heart and an avid reader. Add those two together and she will devour books within hours, getting lost in the world the author creates. Matson resides in the peaceful Piedmont area of NC with her husband and three boys, where staying hopped up on caffeine is the key to her sanity. Chaos is indefinite and a sense of humor is an absolute must.

AN INTERVIEW

Favorite part of being an author?

Having the most amazing readers love the stories in my head.

Scariest part of being an author?

Publishing. For every book I have the same reaction—freak the hell out! Picture walking butt naked through the middle of town. Yeah. That flash of anxiety is spread over several days.

Who are your favorites to read?

RK Lilley, JB Salsbury, Harper Bentley, Corinne Michaels are some of them.

If you could have one super power, what would it be?

Mimicry! Why just limit myself to one when I can absorb someone else’s? I could go from flying across country to cleaning my house in hyper speed.

One piece of advice to an aspiring writer?

Write! Write! Write! Do it! But do it right. Don’t put out mediocre work because 1st impressions are important and you don’t want to ruin your reputation before you even get started. Pay for an editor. Pay for a cover. And keep writing!

Are your characters based on people you know?

Nope. Okay…Well…my husband’s eyes have made it into a book. ;)
