Oh Max - I think I maybe temporarily blinded to any other book heros after reading about the completely swoon worthy Max!
He's not perfect (hello snickers and Mt Dew), but he definitely gives Prince Charming a run for his money in this Cinderella meets hockey goalie story.
The latest installment of Ms. Bennett's Cold Fury series runs parallel to book 5, so there are a few potential spoilers if you are hoping to read the series in order, but nothing so crazy that it would ruin reading Hawke's book.
Like all of Ms. Bennett's books, this is well written and contains a healthy dose of sexy time. But, that's not the core of the story. The core of the story is relationship building and being smart enough to notice when fate puts the right person in your path.
Max got the message pretty quickly, but there were moments when the heroine, Jules, needed to get out of her own way.
I appreciated the strength Jules had in dealing with the issues life handed her and the fact that she didn't latch on the Max as a cure-all even when he wanted to be.
Overall, this was a fun, sweet book that I had a hard time putting down!
