Playing Catch Up

Life has been BUSY lately, so there have been a couple of reads where I haven't gotten to do a full blog post for them. I'm going to catch you up on those reviews here....

Since I Fell for You (New York Sullivans #2; The Sullivans #16)Since I Fell for You by Bella Andre
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5 Stars

Ms. Andre is one of the best at the feel good romance and Since I Fell for You is another example of why.
Suzanne Sullivan is the brilliant mind behind Sullivan Security and has been dealing with what she considers annoying problems for months. Her over protective brothers fear it's more than annoying so they hire a body guard for her - unknowingly introducing her to Mr. Right.
Sparks fly as soon as Suzanne meets Roman and it was fun watching them fall in love even though they both resisted.
As with most of Ms. Andre's books, the relationship moves very quickly and love overcomes all obstacles. If you are looking for lots of angst, this isn't the book for you. But, if you are looking for a sweet story with a little bit of spicy sexy time, then you will enjoy Since I Fell For You. There is an added bonus here for people who have been following the Sullivan family for a while - a few familiar faces will appear and who get to catch up a little bit.

Silver-Tongued Devil (Portland Devils, #1)Silver-Tongued Devil by Rosalind James
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rosalind James is an author who you think you know her work and then she does and mixes things up on you - in the best way!
Silver -Tongued Devil introduces to a new world and a new small town in Idaho. We meet, Dakota, a house painter/stain glass artist who is back home to help her dad through a tough time and Blake, a former NFL quarter back turned business man.
Nothing about Dakota and Blake makes sense on paper, but they seem to bring out the best in each other. I appreciated and enjoyed how they seemed to slide into a business relationship/friendship then into something romantic.
Well written with Ms. James' trademark down to Earth sensibilities and humor, I found myself caught up in Dakota and Blake's story and not wanting to put it down. We see both characters grow and mature as they deal with the bumps in the road, including small town politics, intrigue, and battered self esteem.
You have enjoyed Ms. James work in the past, then you'll definitely love this one too. If you are new to her, this great book with it's unique and likable characters would be a great place to start.
