Sugar Rush ~ Sawyer Bennett ~ New Release and Review

Title: Sugar Rush (Sugar Bowl, Book #2)
Author: Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: August 16, 2016

Synopsis: In the steamy and suspenseful sequel to Sugar Daddy (A totally gripping take on romance and revenge!͟—Lauren Blakely), a heartbreaking rift threatens to unravel a dangerous alliance . . . and a fragile new love. After posing as an escort for the Sugar Bowl online dating service, Sela Halstead is looking for one thing: payback. She's closing in on the site's heartless founder, Jonathon Townsend, and she needs Beckett North, Townsend's business partner and her lover, by her side. She'd thought that their intimate nights together had forged an unbreakable bond, but after a shocking betrayal, Sela begins to doubt the brilliant bad boy. When push comes to shove, can she trust Beck to do the right thing? Now that he understands the truth, Beck will stop at nothing to secure the reckoning Sela deserves. But between his desire for her and his disgust for JT, Beck doesn't exactly have a lot of control over his emotional state. Left with no other choice, he must summon all his discipline to maintain JT's trust and pretend that they're still friends. But how far will Beck go to prove his loyalty to Sela? He nearly lost her once. To keep her, Beck might have to kill for her.
Note: Sugar Rush ends on a cliffhanger. Sela and Beck's story concludes in Sugar Free!

Elizabeth's Review

5 Stars - One of the Absolute Best

I had to sit on this one for a few days before I could write the review.

I actually have to confess that I was reluctant to read this book.... you see, I have a real thing about duets and trilogies where you need all the books for the full story - I really don't like the format because it seems like to so many times it's not needed and it's a money grab.

That is NOT the case here! While Sugar Rush is not a stand alone effort, it is definitely a complete story. I'm going to date myself and compare this book to the "Who Shot JR?" episode from the show Dallas..... We spent the entire summer talking about that show and it was a big deal when it returned to the air in the fall. We even made a point to watch all of the re runs to see if we could figure it out. That's the feeling I had when I finished reading Sugar Rush. The story and it's well written characters stayed with me while I went about life. I found myself coming back to the story to see if I missed a detail. Sugar Rush kept me on the edge of my seat and engaged from the very beginning. If you've read Sugar Daddy, you are definitely want to get your hands on this one. I am looking forward to October when we can see how the story ends for Beck and Sela.
