Once Upon a Power Play (Risky Business, #2) ~ Jennifer Bonds ~ NEW RELEASE and REVIEW

He'll do whatever it takes to get her against the boards…
Sidelined by a potentially career-ending injury, the only thing hockey player Ryan Douglas should be thinking about is recovery. But after sharing a near death experience and a night of passion with a spunky brunette, the only thing on his mind is five and a half feet of sexy sarcasm. And he'll do whatever it takes to get her back in his bed--even if it means playing dirty.
Chloe Jacobs is done with fairytales. And men. She's kissed her share of frogs and what's it gotten her? Dumped by text--again. Determined to eighty-six illusions of romance and prove she's more than just a good-time girl, the last thing she needs is a pushy, arrogant hockey player testing her resolve. Especially one who's sinfully good with his hands and thinks date-by-blackmail is a perfectly acceptable social convention.
Ryan wants to play games? Fine by her, but this is one faceoff he's going to lose.

3.5 Stars - Worth A Readers Time

This was such a fun book! Chloe has been cursed with bad dating luck and feels like she is always coming in second place. After being stood up by text, she heads for comfort food only to run into Ryan. Ryan is a professional hockey player who has been burned by love when he and Chloe meet and survive an armed robbery together. I liked the fact that when these two first meet they aren't even sure if they like each other and I loved the fact that Chloe had no clue that Ryan was famous. The interactions between these two seemed genuine and rang true for two people who have been burned and are scared of trying again. One fun twist was that it was actually Ryan who wanted a more committed relationship and Chloe who was frightened. The conflict in the book also rang true for people in their situation. They each thought they were right and things got blown out of proportion. Ryan's grand gesture to get Chloe back was awesome. Overall, this is a fun, quick read. I definitely recommend it for curly up on the couch and having a reading day.
