Dylan Turner wasn’t looking for love, all he needed was someone to warm his bed and be gone by morning. Baseball was what made his life worth living. The hunger to play, the need to live and breathe baseball—it was ingrained in his blood and veins, making his heart thump, beat for beat. It wasn’t until he met Paige that everything changed. She became part of the game, only it was a game he never wanted to end. Paige’s love for baseball was ingrained in her before she was even born. She never thought she would find love in the form of a baseball player though, but that all changes when she meets her new schools first baseman. Was Paige really ready for this roller coaster ride? When the count is full, will what they have survive?

Photo of a couple in a tender kiss with a quote from Lover's Leap, a contemporary romance novel by author Emily March

"You know, I've been a lot of places in this world, but this place is still one of my favorite spots."
"It is beautiful."
"That's not it. The world has plenty of beautiful places. What made this so great is that I was happy here."
"In Eternity Springs?"
"No. Here at Lover's Leap. With you."
He sounded so sincere. Sarah's heart hitched. Was he trying to seduce her all over again? Is that what this is about? What that kiss was about this afternoon?
She was vulnerable to him. Well, vulnerable to the old, or make that the young Cam.
"I expect everyone is a little nostalgic about their teenage days to some extent."
"I'm not talking about nostalgia. I've never been nostalgic about those days; I have nightmares about those days. I'm talking about happiness, which for me means Lover's Leap. I never bought into the whole thrill of the forbidden thing. I hated sneaking around with you. This was the only place we were honest."
He gave his head a shake, then said, "I'm sorry. I sound like a whiny kid. I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm in the weirdest mood tonight."
He's talking about his feelings and emotions. He's a guy. Of course he thinks it's weird.

He Saved Me by Whitney Barbetti Release Blitz

He Found Me:

When I was seventeen, I disappeared. I walked out the door of my apartment with a backpack and never looked back. I left the life of Cora Mitchell behind, seeking freedom from my real-life nightmare. But my freedom came with a cost. I lived a fictitious life for the next six years, never letting anyone close enough to see underneath the facade that was Andra Walker. I was content with my simple little life. Until I met Julian. And the moment I started allowing myself to open up, allowing someone to see through the superficial, was the very same moment the Monster from my past would return to find me.
He Saved Me:

I’ve come to understand that I’ll always find her. She’s my north star, my sense of direction. In her, I’ve found my home. She tells me I saved her. But the truth is, she saved me.

But nothing good can ever last. Andra’s keeping secrets. She’s holding something back. I’m trying, desperately, to anchor her. To let me in, to let me help.

But will all my efforts end up with a ghost of a girl I love?

I'm used to disappearing. Vanishing into thin air, without a trace of who I've been or where I've gone.

But it’s so much harder to do with a broken heart and no hope for a happy ending. Sometimes the only people who can put all the pieces of us back together are the ones we least expect to. That's what Julian did for me.

Julian found me. But now, all Six wants is to keep me locked up, away from the world, away from the Monster. I can't live like that. It's not living at all. Because I still have unfinished business.

And I'm going to make sure the Monster gets what’s coming to him

I like nachos and champagne and clean sheets. I spend far too much time at Starbucks. I wrote a couple books

I met a girl once. Her world, full of possibilities, made me feel like even I had a chance at being someone. She believed in me. She loved me. In Quarter Mile Hearts, Leigh Storm is a young woman living away from home and she is coasting through life. When her Dad is injured, she goes home to be there for him and help with the family business. Coming home brings her back into contact with Max, the sexy street racer she secretly loves.
I liked both Leigh and Max, but I didn’t always understand why they acted the way they did. I don’t know if I have forgotten what it’s like to be 24 or 25, but there seemed to be lots of drama for the sake of drama as they worked their way to being together. Max’s character is one that I definitely liked more as I got to know him and he explained some of reasons behind his actions and some things that were misconceptions.
The world of cars and street racing isn’t one that I am familiar with and the author did a great job of introducing that world in such a way that it was fun and not overwhelming. This was definitely a good book, I just had a little bit of trouble relating to some of the characters, but I honestly think it may have been my own frame of reference that was part of the issue.

Jenny Siegel writes new adult romance. When she's not writing (or entertaining two little terrors) Jenny is glued to her Kindle, or plotting (also known as daydreaming) about hot tattooed heroes that will sweep a girl off her feet.

Make Me Believe - Karen Ferry- Excerpt

Make Me Believe by Karen Ferry Believe #1 Publication Date: July 6, 2015 Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance
Tour: Make Me Believe by Karen Ferry
Sometimes, a chance meeting is just the push you need in order to break free from the darkness within…
My name is Emma, I’m 23, and I’ve never been kissed. I’m no virgin…But kissing is too intimate, too intense, and I don’t want that – not ever. I like sex, though, and most of my hook-ups don’t seem to mind the no-kissing part. But then I meet Daniel, who’s such a geek, and definitely not the kind of guy I’d normally take an interest to. He’s the shy, quiet type, but with such a charming smile, and he makes my heart race – something I’ve never experienced before. Daniel has his own issues to work through, and I know my hardened heart shouldn’t melt when he looks at me. I really shouldn’t be falling for him, either, but somehow, he manages to tear down my walls, and I’m scared…because once he learns my secrets, he’ll want nothing to do with me. All I know is that Daniel makes me feel things that I have never felt before – but do I dare let down my walls and confide in him? Will I let him be my first kiss? This is my story, and I’ll reveal everything in my own sweet time… Just don’t expect all the hearts-and-flowers stuff. Life is messy, and mine is no different… INSPIRED BY TRUE EVENTS ***Due to possible ‘triggers’ and adult situations (yes, there is lots of sex in this book) it is not recommended to persons under the age of 18.

Emma takes my hand in hers and pulls me inside her flat, shutting the door quietly. I wait in her small hallway, unsure of what to do, and I’m completely taken aback when I feel her arms surrounding me from behind, her body pressed flush to mine. For the first time since I last saw her, I can breathe freely again. Shite . . . I’m going to bawl like a baby soon! Emma's lips press against me, and although I can't feel them on my skin, they're burning me. "I'm sorry, Daniel . . . ,” she whispers softly, and I'm grateful when she leaves it at that. Reaching my hand upwards, I place it on top of hers briefly before turning in her arms to wrap my own around her. I need her so fucking bad right now. I squeeze tightly, wishing more than ever that she would allow me to kiss her. But if she won't let me pour out how much she means to me with my mouth, at least I am able to use my hands, mouth, and my tongue on her body. Maybe it'll even force her to open her eyes and truly see how I need her so much. It would seem that Emma has another plan in mind, though, because she wriggles gently out of my grasp, takes my hand again and leads me inside her living room. She stops next to her CD player hanging on the wall to the right just above her small TV and turns up the volume a bit. Smiling shyly at me, looking cute as hell, she backs away from me, and I have no other choice but to follow her. The next song starts, and I’m surprised when I hear a French woman sing a cover of “Someone Like Yo”’ by Adele. I like it, and I like to see yet another side to Emma. “I thought you weren’t a romantic,” I murmur, keeping my voice low for fear of breaking this strange spell she has me under, and she shrugs. “Dancing isn’t necessarily a romantic act,” she mutters. Bloody hell, she’s stubborn. I want to disagree with her but I don’t want to lose this moment we’re having right now. Because this feels significant, somehow . . . The air is charged with electricity, my stomach is wrapped up in knots, and I honestly don’t know where this is going. But I know I’ll follow this girl everywhere she goes. It’s as if she has woven a web around my entire being . . . She’s never far from my thoughts, my attraction to her has not died down while I was away these past few days -- quite the contrary, in fact -- and even though I don’t believe in some higher deity, I thank them for bringing this girl into my life. Emma accepts me for who I am, no matter where I come from. I’d be lying if I said I’d want to break free of the bonds she has wrapped tightly around my heart. I don’t. Not now. Not ever. This is it: the moment I hand over my heart to her, unafraid of what the consequences might be. And she seems to want to dance with me. Well, then . . . who am I to deny her? I just hope I don’t step on her toes too much.

3.5 stars

Thrill Me takes us back to Fools Gold to get to know Maya, who first appeared in Kiss Me, and her first love Del. I like Maya and Del, they were a fun couple and I liked the fact that they dealt with how their relationship ended the first time like adults. They addressed the issue and moved on without a lot of excess drama.
This book definitely seemed to be about who Maya and Del were individually in addition to being about them as a couple. It was nice to see Maya realize that she had been reacting to life versus actually making plans, but I got frustrated with her waiting for Del to make a move. I also liked seeing Del mend fences with his brothers, it would actually have been nice to see a little more of those interaction. As much as I enjoyed Thrill Me, I didn’t love it. The book was well written and the characters were great, but everything felt a little predictable. It almost seemed like it was more of a “transition” book to introduce the Mitchell family to Fools Gold than really a story about the two main characters.
If you have been following the Fools Gold series, I would definitely suggest picking this one up. Favorites from other stories make brief appearance and you learn a little more about the family coming up in future books.
